Changing Seasons

Yesterday was one of those brisk, breezy Autumn mornings, and I was enamored with the colors of the leaves and the brightness of the yellows, oranges & reds mixed in with the lush green trees.  This beautiful piece of artwork came from our resident Copic magician, Jennifer .   She has captured the change of season using our T116 Oval Covered Bridge scene.  It is a frame-able work of art!  Her use of so many layers & textures frames the stamped image so nicely.  the crepe ribbon (from Creative Impressions)  adds that bit of 3D that makes the image pop!  This is really a greeting card, though i should be hung behind glass to preserve it for years to come!

Dragonfly Velum Card

There is something delicate and airy about velum...  Size-A2
Base is a white velum folded card - then a green velum (8.5 x 5.25 - qtr inch smaller than we usually use) was stamped in blue dye ink, the F111 & F140 (dragonfly and word 'dragonfly')  and again on the slate blue velum the same images were stamped in white dye ink - slightly heat set to help dry and prevent smudges.  The green & blue velum were then placed on top each other and folded in half (A2 size)... then both pieces were torn in half across the 4.5 inch side, at the same time.  This allows for two opposite cards to be made at same time.  Separate the velum, leaving a 1/4" space between them & use a teeny tiny glue dot to secure in place over the base card stock.  Another half sheet of white velum was folded over outside of colored velum sheets.  We tore the front portion of the white, exposing the full color of the images, and tore leaving at just over an inch.  Then punch two holes through the front portion of the card, and weave your ribbon thru.  It was fun to make and is prettier in person!

Horse & Saddle

Thank you Joyce Weightman for such a handsome, masculine card!  Joyce used a piece of cardstock that was the same color as her folded card and used the direct-to-paper technique with Colorbox pigment inks to stain the card.  She over-stamped the L121 Saddle stamp in dark brown dye ink.  On separate cream paper, the P119 Horse Head image was stamped in timber-brown pigment ink and embossed with clear powder.   She chalked the the horse, and then used marker to color the bridle.  Add your paper layers and look what a beautiful 5 x 7 card card you end up with! Simply handsome!

P109 Loon Scene

Thank you Erica for your watercolored P109 Loon Scene card.
The tearing & layering of the cardstock frame the scene nicely.  Eyelets and
organdy ribbon anchor the image to the card.
